An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary North American P-51D-5 Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov (KP). The Aces boxing concentrates on the markings of aircraft flown by fighter aces. It is a modern tooling devoted to the early P-51D-5 version. The contents of the package and the number of schemes are given in the instructions. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The North American P-51 Mustang was one of the most successful fighter aircraft of the Second World War. The P-51D version with its bubble canopy offered an excellent view and became the best-known variant. The early P-51D-5 sub-version did not yet have the dorsal fillet ahead of the rudder, which appeared on later production blocks. Thanks to their long range the Mustangs escorted bombers all the way to their targets and in the hands of experienced pilots scored many victories.
Separate the parts with a cutter and clean them up with a fine file; glue them with thin plastic cement. The cockpit, with its good visibility, repays careful painting and covering with masks. For the glossy natural metal finishes of many Mustangs, metallic paints applied with an airbrush over a smooth base work well; lay the aces' decals over a gloss varnish so that they settle without silvering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
