Reskit 1:72 PBY Catalina – propeller, engines and cowlings is a 3D-printed resin set for a faithful rework of the powerplant of the Catalina flying boat in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detailed 3D-printed resin set, not a standalone model. It serves to replace and refine the powerplant of plastic models of the PBY-5/5A flying boat and of the OA-10A rescue version in 1:72 scale. The set captures the radial engines, the engine cowlings and the propellers with their individual blades precisely. It is made by Reskit, which specializes in 3D-printed aircraft accessories. According to the product name the set is intended for Academy, Revell and Wolfpack kits.
The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an American twin-engine flying boat and amphibian, one of the most widely used seaplanes of the Second World War. It served for long-range maritime reconnaissance, anti-submarine work and search and rescue. It was powered by two air-cooled Pratt & Whitney Twin Wasp radial engines.
Wash the 3D-printed resin parts free of uncured print resin residue, separate them carefully from the print supports and sand the surfaces lightly with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The engines and cowlings come out well after airbrush painting and subtle emphasis of the detail; we recommend finishing the propellers before final assembly.
This is an add-on resin set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
