An accessory weapon set from Special Navy in 1:72 scale. It is not a ship kit but a faithful replacement for the armament of models of American PT boats of the later production batches. The set combines several technologies and replaces the simplified plastic parts from the box.
The main weapon is the 40 mm Bofors anti-aircraft and anti-ship gun as it was mounted on the stern of later PT boats. The set brings together resin castings, photo-etched parts and directly 3D-printed elements that offer a markedly higher level of detail than the original plastic armament.
Wash the resin and printed parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Bend the photo-etched parts over an edge and join them with super glue or by soldering. The fine barrels and sights come out best with an airbrush followed by a wash.
This is an accessory weapon set, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, without the base model, glue and paints.
