A set of injection-molded plastic figures of Russian foot artillery from the Napoleonic Wars in 1:72 scale from Zvezda. The set holds gun crews in period uniforms in several combat poses together with artillery equipment. The figures suit both completing dioramas and historical tabletop games.
Russian foot artillery was among the key branches of the tsarist army during the campaigns of 1812 to 1815. The crews worked smoothbore guns, loading, laying and firing in the practiced teamwork of several men. The gunners' uniforms were striking: dark green coats with black and red facings and a shako on the head. It is exactly the color of the uniforms that makes these figures a rewarding subject for painting.
Separate the small parts from the sprues carefully and clean them up. Apply a thin base coat of primer before painting. Paint the uniforms in layers: a base shade, a dark wash into the folds to bring out the detail and drybrushing on the edges. On figures this small, clean transitions of color and carefully worked faces and facings stand out. Assembled crews are set off perfectly by a gun in action on a diorama.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
