Masking plugs for the landing gear bays from the Czech maker Omask, shaped for the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V kit in 1:72 scale from Eduard. It is not a model and not a kit but an accessory for painting. The plugs are cut from flexible EVA foam. They are pressed into the open landing gear bays in the wing, adapt to their shape and close them reliably. They are not glued, they damage neither the plastic nor the detail inside the bay and after spraying they are simply taken out. In 1:72 scale that is particularly practical, as the bays are small and intricate and lining them with tape is slow, thankless work.

Use

• Press the plug into the landing gear bay so that it sits flush with the surface of the wing; no glue is needed.
• Check that the foam fills the bay all the way around and that no gap is left anywhere.
• Spray in the usual sequence: primer, lower and upper colors, camouflage and clear coat.
• Once the paint has dried, pull the plug carefully out; the interior of the bay stays free of overspray.
• Handled gently, the plugs can be used again.
