Injection-molded plastic kit of the British fighter Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb in 1:72 scale from Hobby Boss. It is an easy model to build, with a lower parts count, finely engraved panel lines, a cockpit and a clear part for the canopy. Check the exact contents of the package and the parts count against the enclosed instructions.
The Spitfire is among the most famous fighters of the Second World War and its elliptical wing is instantly recognizable. The Mk.V version with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine was one of the most numerous variants, and in the Vb form it carried mixed armament of cannon and machine guns in the so-called B-type wing. It was deployed on many fronts, from the defense of Britain through the Mediterranean to North Africa, where the tropical modifications with a dust filter also came into their own.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic, and the fine and clear parts rather with cyanoacrylate. Paint the cockpit and add the detail before you close up the fuselage; the clear canopy can be protected with a mask while spraying. The British camouflage scheme suits an airbrush and a good base, and the panel lines can be picked out with a fine wash. Fit the small parts only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
