An injection-molded plastic model of the German heavy tank Tiger II Ausf.B in 1:72 scale from the brand Revell. This kit captures the variant with the so-called production turret, which you recognize by its vertical front armor plate, unlike the earlier turret with a rounded front. The box contains injection-molded plastic parts and a decal sheet.
The Tiger II, nicknamed Königstiger (royal tiger), was the heaviest German tank put into series service in the Second World War. It combined heavy sloped armor on the pattern of the Panther with the long 8.8 cm KwK 43 gun, which could destroy Allied tanks at long range. At the price of great weight and unreliability it was an exceptionally difficult opponent. The production turret replaced the earlier configuration and became the most widespread form of the tank.
With a tank it pays to assemble and paint the running gear with the wheels and tracks first, and to close the hull only afterwards. Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Apply primer before painting and lay the typical three-color camouflage on with an airbrush in thin coats. The sloped armor surfaces come alive with light drybrushing of the edges, a dark wash into the details and pigments for mud effects on the running gear.
