An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from PST, which brings two Soviet subjects together in one package — the ZiS-5 truck and the light 61-K anti-aircraft gun of 37 mm caliber, model 1939. The kit, to be glued and painted, offers a rewarding combination of a vehicle and an artillery weapon, from which an impressive air-defense scene can be built.
The ZiS-5 was among the most widespread Soviet trucks of the Second World War — a simple and tough three-ton vehicle that served for carrying personnel and cargo and as a chassis for a number of weapons. The automatic 61-K anti-aircraft gun of 37 mm caliber, model 1939, was the basic light anti-aircraft weapon of the Red Army; it protected columns, bridges and positions against attacks from low altitude. The pair thus captures a typical ground air-defense arrangement well.
Glue the plastic parts with thin modeling cement, and clean up the fine parts of the gun carefully. Spray the surface with a base color and apply the shades with an airbrush. Both the vehicle and the gun come alive with weathering — a wash into the recesses, dust and mud pigments on the running gear and the wheels and light rubbing on the edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
