A photo-etched set of rigging turnbuckles and anchor plates in 1:72 scale, prepared for the DH.9a kits and the derived R-1 and MR-1 types from Clear Prop Models. It completes the rigging that the plastic parts only suggest.

Rigging turnbuckles are among the small things that decide how a biplane comes across at a small scale. The set is prepared for Clear Prop Models kits of the DH.9a and of the derived R-1 and MR-1 types, which carry a dense web of wires between the wings ending in exactly these turnbuckles.
Photo-etched turnbuckles and anchor plates for securing the rigging, etched from thin metal sheet and held on a fret. Metal holds its shape, takes the tension of a wire and, once painted, looks finer than a plastic substitute.
Separate the part with a sharp blade on a hard surface a little way from its body and sand the remaining tab away. Work with tweezers over a surface a small piece cannot escape from. Photo-etch is glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer, or the shade will not hold on smooth metal. Besides the set you will need material for the rigging wires themselves and some patience while tensioning them between the wings.
For modelers who build a biplane for the display case and want the wires terminated the way they look on the real machine. The work is fine, and a magnifier and a steady hand pay off. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
