The pack contains forty figures devoted to the most famous outlaw of English legend and his band. The Vintage Classics range brings the brand's older molds back into production in their original form, so the set carries the distinctive style of earlier decades: softer sculpting and simpler poses that, even after decades, still have their charm and an unmistakable nostalgic appeal.
The tale of the archer from Sherwood Forest who robbed the rich to help the poor is one of the most enduring subjects in English tradition. It is set in a time when status was decided by the bow, the horse and a lord's favor, and its cast — outlaws, the sheriff's men-at-arms and a friar — offers exactly the variety of poses and gear a figure set needs. No historically documented person stands behind the story; it belongs to folk tradition.
The 1:76 scale means very small figures, so a spray primer and work with the finest brush pay off. Choose bold, saturated shades; muted tones get lost at this size. A final dark wash over the whole figure will bring out the folds and turn a flat figure into a three-dimensional one. Match the bases to the color of the terrain.
The figures are supplied on sprues, unpainted. Paints and glue are not supplied with them, unless stated otherwise for the item.
