A compound for creating a water surface on dioramas, from the Acrylic Water range, in a 250 ml container. The Deep Oceans version aims at deep sea water, that is at scenes with open sea, a harbor or the hull of a ship on the surface. It serves equally well on military vehicle models where the water forms only part of the scene, for instance at a ford or a flooded road.
The base has to be sealed and watertight so that the compound does not leak out; make good the edges of the diorama beforehand and seal the gaps. Pour the compound in layers and let each one cure properly before you add the next. A single heavy layer takes a long time to dry and keeps a cloudy core. Prepare the bottom and its coloring and let it dry before pouring, because once the compound has cured you can no longer reach it.
Depth in a model comes mainly from the base: a darker bottom reads as deeper than a light one, and the difference between shallows and deep water shows more than the shade of the surface itself. Leave ripples and foam on the crests to the very end, using separate products made for that. Work on a level surface, otherwise the water will set at an angle. Clean tools and containers while the compound is still wet; once cured it is no longer possible. The procedure and the drying time are stated by the manufacturer on the container.
What is supplied is the compound itself, 250 ml. A diorama, a model, paints and products for ripples and foam are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
