Revell Aqua Color 34 - Ferrari Red, gloss (18 ml)

A deep gloss red from the acrylic Aqua Color line by Revell, with the shade number 34 and the name Ferrari Red (the manufacturer also gives the same shade under the designation Italian Red). The name is purely the maker designation of the shade: it is the classic deep racing and sports red for car bodies. The paint is thinnable with water and the package holds 18 ml. This is a modeling paint, not a kit.

Do not confuse it with the enamel: the same shade number also exists in the Revell enamel (solvent based) line, which the maker carries alongside it. The enamel variant is thinned with Color Mix, comes in a different volume and is not interchangeable with this acrylic version.

Use

• The bodies of car and motorcycle models: gloss is ideal for body paint and looks realistic with no further clear coating.
• Racing and sports vehicles, frame details, fairings, accessories.
• Red covers less well than most shades, so lay it over a light or white base (a primer), otherwise the tone will be muddy and uneven.
• Apply several thin coats instead of one heavy one; a heavy coat runs and fills in engraved lines.
• A gloss surface takes decals well, and they silver less on it.
