A resin KAB-500LG guided aerial bomb in 1:72 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. The resin print manages the body, the tail surfaces and the seeker head in one piece. It is not an aircraft model but a separate store to be hung on the pylon of a finished model.
The corrected aerial bombs of the KAB series combine a conventional body with a guidance system and steerable tail surfaces, so a plain bomb becomes a precision weapon. The version with the letters LG belongs to the laser branch of the family and differs from the baseline in the layout of the seeker system. For a modeler the difference between the versions is above all a question of matching them correctly to the period and to the carrier's equipment.
Release the part from the print supports with a scalpel and wet-sand the pads down, with respiratory protection. The smooth body of the bomb gives away every scratch, so work the sanding marks out with progressively finer grits. Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Do the colored bands on the ordnance with thin masking tape.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
