The wheel chocks and jacks 1:48 are a 3D printed resin set of chocks for under the wheels and airfield jacks in 1:48 scale for a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains 3D printed resin replicas of chocks for under the wheels and of airfield jacks in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but small ground equipment, which in a diorama gives a machine standing still its credibility. The print holds the sharp edges of the chocks as well as the thin parts of the jacks.
The chocks are placed under the wheels of a parked aircraft so that the machine does not roll away, and they belong to the most basic airfield equipment. They tend to be wooden or metal, often joined by a rope or a chain and painted in warning colors. The jacks serve during maintenance of the landing gear and when changing wheels, when the aircraft has to be lifted. Both are commonly to be seen in photographs of parked machines and they add an air of reality to a scene at once.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Equipment beside an aircraft comes out best with weathering: a dark wash into the gaps, dust with dry pigment and scuffed spots suggested with a metallic shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
