The airfield tow bar for the MiG-29 and the MiG-35 1:48 is a 3D printed resin model of an airfield tow bar listed for the MiG-29 and MiG-35 aircraft, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains a 3D printed resin model of the tow bar with which the MiG-29 and MiG-35 aircraft are moved around the airfield surface. Alongside this item the manufacturer also lists a tow bar intended for the MiG-29 only, so check which machine you are building. It is not a model of an aircraft but a piece of ground equipment.
The MiG-35 is the latest development step of the MiG-29 tactical fighter, with new avionics and a modified airframe. Because it shares the basic arrangement of the landing gear with its predecessor, it also uses similar ground equipment. The tow bar clamps onto the nose leg and connects the aircraft with a tug, which moves it around the surface without the engines running. In photographs of aprons the bar is to be seen coupled to the aircraft or set down beside it.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Equipment beside an aircraft comes out best with weathering: a dark wash into the gaps, dust with dry pigment and scuffed spots suggested with a metallic shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
