The MBD2-67U multiple ejector rack 1:32 is a 3D printed resin replica of the Soviet MBD2-67U bomb rack in 1:32 scale for completing the load of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set contains a 3D printed resin replica of the MBD2-67U multiple ejector rack in 1:32 scale. It is an accessory for the load thanks to which an aircraft carries several smaller bombs on one pylon instead of a single large one. It is not a model of an aircraft. The print holds the sharp edges of the beam as well as the small lugs and linkages.
The MBD2-67U is a Soviet multiple ejector rack intended for carrying, transporting and jettisoning up to four aerial bombs of up to the one hundred kilogram class. It was used on the MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-27, MiG-29K, Su-25 and Yak-38 aircraft as well as on attack and transport helicopters. The rack is slung onto a standard pylon and thereby multiplies the number of bombs carried. In photographs of attack machines with a full load it is one of the most conspicuous elements.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Assemble and paint the weapons separately and glue them onto the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces are not rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
