A black primer with a filling effect for modeling use. It unifies a base of plastic, photo-etch and resin and prepares the surface for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A primer is the first layer that lies between the material of the model and the paint. It improves the adhesion of further coats, unifies a base made up of different materials and, above all, makes visible the surface flaws that are easily overlooked on bare plastic: joints left unsanded, fine grooves from a file or fingerprints. The Microfiller designation refers to the filling effect, that is to the ability to even out small irregularities and pores in the base.
A dark primer works differently from a light one. It deepens the shadows in gaps and folds, so the model gains three-dimensionality before the shade itself goes onto it. It is also the usual first layer in procedures that build the light from above with thin passes of a lighter color. Under bright yellow and red shades, by contrast, a light primer suits better, because black beneath them takes away the saturation.
Wash and degrease the surface before applying and let it dry thoroughly. Apply the primer in several light coats rather than one heavy one, otherwise the fine relief and the raised details are lost. The manufacturer gives the thinner, the thinning ratio and the recommended way of applying it on the packaging, so follow those instructions. Let the layer cure completely before the next coat and carefully sand any shortcomings with a fine abrasive.
Paints, thinner and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
