This is a paint with a chrome look from the AMMO of Mig Jimenez brand, which its name ties to Lexan. Lexan is a trade name for polycarbonate, the tough transparent plastic from which the bodies of radio-controlled models and other parts that have to survive impact and bending are formed. Paints for this material differ from ordinary modeling paints in that they stay flexible once dry and do not crack when the surface flexes.
Polycarbonate bodies are sprayed from the inside. The glossy outer surface then protects the paint from scratching, and the chrome look is seen from outside through the clear wall of the body, so it appears deeper. The inner side therefore has to be freed of its protective film, washed and degreased before painting; every greasy mark will show on the finished surface. The surface has to stay smooth, because a metallic look is lost on a rough one.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work so that the settled components are mixed back in. The thinner, the thinning ratio and the recommended way of applying it are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging, so follow them. Apply several thin coats rather than one heavy one and let the surface dry between coats. Let the first coat dry completely before you cover it with further paints.
The paint is supplied on its own. Thinner, brushes, a spray outfit and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
