DARK OLIVE GREEN FS-34130

The color

A modeling paint in a dark olive green shade from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. The designation FS-34130 refers to the color list of the American Federal Standard 595, by which colors are described uniformly across manufacturers. That makes it possible to compare the shade with another line and to fill a gap in your palette.

How to apply the paint

Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, so that the settled pigment is mixed through the whole volume. Choose the thinner and the ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging; each line has a thinner meant for it and they cannot be interchanged. Apply several thin coats and let each one dry. A single heavy coat fills the fine relief of the surface and the result then looks flooded. The base has to be clean and degreased; on a greasy surface the paint holds badly and in time it peels off.

What to watch out for

• Try the shade on an offcut; it cannot be judged from the cap or from a screen.
• Close the bottle carefully after work, as dried paint on the thread will ruin it in time.
• Clean brushes and the airbrush right after work, not once the paint has dried.
• Store it in a dry place, away from frost and out of direct sunlight.
• After a longer break, stir the paint again, as the pigment settles at the bottom in the meantime.
