A stencil for applying an irregular hexagonal pattern with an airbrush, from a line of patterns and markings for science fiction hardware and dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A stencil with which you transfer a repeating pattern onto a model without laborious masking. It carries the motif of an irregular hexagonal mesh, that is a distorted honeycomb. It belongs to a line of five pieces in which circular textures, numerals, warning signs and other motifs for science fiction hardware and for dioramas stand side by side.
Lay the stencil on the place where the pattern is to appear and secure it against shifting. Apply the paint perpendicular to the surface and in several light coats; a single thick coat will run under the edge and the outline will smear. After spraying, lift the stencil straight upwards before the paint has set completely, and wipe it at once so that the cut-out pattern does not get clogged with dried paint.
A hexagonal mesh suits anywhere a smooth area is to be given a texture: on the armor and hulls of science fiction hardware, on energy shields and backdrops, on bases and on the background of a diorama. A light spray in a shade close to the surface gives only an unobtrusive texture, while a stronger color gives a legible pattern.
It will be appreciated by a modeler who finishes surfaces with patterns of their own and does not want to cut them laboriously out of tape. The delivery holds the stencil itself; paints, masking tape and the model are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
