The set contains a 3D printed resin replica of the K-36D-3.5 ejection seat in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement for the seat from the kit. The print holds the definition of the harness straps, the handles, the stabilizing booms and the small placards, which in an open cockpit decide most of all how a model comes across.
The K-36D-3.5 is the modern form of the proven Russian ejection seat, which came about for the fourth-generation machines in their present shape. Against the earlier form it has modified equipment and a wider range of conditions in which it will save the pilot. Characteristic of it are the deployable stabilizing booms and the protective shields against the air blast. It is carried by a number of present-day Russian combat aircraft.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. The seat comes out best after drybrushing on the edges and after the harness straps and the handles have been painted in a different shade.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
