The Khibiny jamming pod for the Su-34 in 1:72 is a printed accessory for models of the Russian tactical bomber. An airplane model it is not.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail accessory in 1:72 scale from the Russian manufacturer Temp Models. The contents are the pod of an electronic warfare suite that the Su-34 tactical bomber carries on its wingtips. The set fills out a finished kit and does not make up an aircraft model on its own.
Khibiny is a Russian electronic warfare suite meant to protect the aircraft against air-launched and anti-aircraft weapons. It locates the source of a hostile radar signal and sends back a distorted echo, so the defenses receive a false reading of the target's position. The Su-34 is a two-seat tactical bomber with the crew seated side by side in an armored cockpit, and it carries the pods of the suite on its wingtips.
The parts are printed from photopolymer, so thin print supports are left on them. Cut them away with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch nippers and sand the pad they leave with fine abrasive paper. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, because polystyrene cement has no effect on this material. Lay down a filler primer before painting; it will at the same time reveal any remains of the supports. Sanding is best done wet and with respiratory protection.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
