The shade listed as Black Blue is a very dark blue bordering on black. Such shades are useful in modeling wherever pure black would look flat and lifeless — tires, dark bases for shading, engine bay surfaces or dark interior parts. Mr.Paint colors are lacquer-based and supplied already thinned to a consistency suitable for an airbrush.
The paint is sprayed straight from the bottle, with no further thinning. It is applied in several thin coats at low pressure, dries quickly and forms a tough, thin film that holds up well to further coats and masking.
Dark shades are easy to overdo, so it is better to build up thin coats and let the base show through. Shake the bottle before working and clean the gun with thinner made for lacquers right after finishing. Work in a well-ventilated room with respiratory protection, as paints of this type have a strong odor. Before switching to a lighter shade, run clean thinner through the gun, otherwise residue of the dark pigment will tint the next coat.
