The shade called shiny silver is a glossy silver for imitating polished metal. It is used wherever a surface should reflect light like bare metal — on areas left uncovered by paint, on exhaust systems, on propeller spinners, or on parts meant to be polished once dry. Mr.Paint colors are lacquer-based and reach modelers already thinned to a consistency suited to an airbrush.
The paint is sprayed straight from the bottle, without further thinning. Apply it in several very thin coats at low pressure; it dries quickly, so you can continue again after a short interval.
Metallic shades forgive nothing — every scratch, fingerprint, or coarser sanding mark will show through the paint. It therefore pays to sand the surface smooth beforehand and lay down a smooth, glossy base coat. Shake the bottle well before use, since the metallic pigment settles to the bottom. After finishing, clean the gun with a thinner intended for lacquers — dried metallic paint is hard to remove.
The package contains one bottle of paint. Thinner, cleaner, and an airbrush are not included, unless stated otherwise.
