German Green Brown 60ml

Vallejo German Green Brown 60 ml — a colored primer, not a top coat

This product is not applied as the last layer but as the first: it is a water-based acrylic primer that is sprayed onto a bare, cleaned model before the painting itself. It evens out a surface made up of plastic, resin and photo-etch, improves the adhesion of the following layers and at the same time already gives the model a green-brown base tone. The camouflage coat then holds after fewer layers, because there is no gray or white showing through that has to be covered. The bottle holds 60 ml.

Use

• before applying it, wash the grease and fingerprints off the model and let it dry completely
• shake the bottle thoroughly — the filler in the primer settles to the bottom and without mixing it covers unevenly
• spray in thin coats and rather at lower pressure; a heavy coat floods the engraved lines and the riveting
• thin it only with the manufacturer's airbrush thinner, as plain water dilutes the binder and the primer loses adhesion
• let the primer cure properly before further painting, not just dry to the touch

Who it is for

It suits modelers who build German vehicles and want the green-brown base done as part of the primer, and those looking for a darker colored base for toning and shading. It also serves well as an underlayer for chipping techniques, where the top color is deliberately broken up and the tone beneath is meant to show through.

A water-based acrylic product. Spray in a ventilated space and with respiratory protection, as the aerosol should not be breathed in. Clean the airbrush and brushes immediately after work — dried primer is hard to remove from a nozzle. Store the bottle well closed and protect it from frost.
