Green Ochre

Green Ochre, a Vallejo Model Color acrylic paint

An earthy greenish yellow ocher from the Model Color range by the maker Acrylicos Vallejo. This water-thinnable acrylic in a 17 ml dropper bottle is one of the most universal tones on the palette: a warm, muted shade between yellow and green turns up on uniforms, on equipment and in nature, so the bottle empties quickly.

Use

• Uniforms and the equipment of figures: khaki cloth, canvas bags, straps and tent sections.
• The natural tones of dioramas: dry grass, soil, thatch, plaster and dusty surfaces.
• Straight from the bottle onto a brush; for an airbrush once thinned with water or Vallejo thinner.
• An excellent intermediate step when lightening green and brown areas, because it does not drag them toward gray.
• The matte surface it dries to will take washes, dry-brushing and pigments.

Who it is for

Figure painters will use it for muted military and civilian cloth, diorama builders for terrain and buildings, and builders of military equipment as a warm filter over lighter camouflage. If you are putting together a basic earth palette, green ocher should not be missing from it.

A water-based acrylic paint with no aggressive solvents. Shake the bottle before use and let the coat dry through between layers.
