The R-98T guided missile in 1:48 scale is a 3D-printed resin accessory from Temp Models. It is not an aircraft model but armament to be hung under the wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings a resin R-98T air-to-air missile in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models, which specializes in accessories for models of Soviet and Russian aircraft. The parts are printed in resin, so they carry sharper edges and finer surface detail than can be pressed into plastic. It is not an aircraft kit but a separate piece of armament that you hang under your own model.
The R-98 is a Soviet medium-range guided missile that grew out of the earlier K-8 family. It was carried by interceptors whose task was to catch a target far out beyond their own territory, and the typical armament was a pair of missiles with different methods of guidance. The letter T in the designation stands for an infrared homing head, which aims at the heat signature of the engines. The semi-active radar counterpart was launched at the same time, to improve the chance of a hit even against a target that defends itself by jamming or by descending to the ground.
The parts sit on the thin supports that the print needs. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel right at the part and level the marks with fine abrasive paper, preferably wet and with respiratory protection. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with plastic cement. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. The thin surfaces of the fins are fragile, so leave them on the body of the missile until the varnishing is finished.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
