A resin set of launchers and pylons for a model of the MiG-29 in the SMT version in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. These are the parts on which the missiles under the wing hang and from which they are launched. In plastic they tend to be simplified; printing in resin manages the guide rails and the lightening holes as well. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory.
Against the basic machine the upgraded MiG-29 SMT received a wider choice of armament, and the fit of the pylons matches that. Short-range missiles are launched from rail launchers, heavier medium-range missiles from ejector launchers, which first throw the missile clear of the airframe and only then let the motor light. The type of launcher therefore differs according to what the aircraft carries, and on a model it is a clearly visible detail.
Release the parts from the supports over a working surface; the arms are thin. Level the mating face on abrasive paper on glass, so that no gap appears between the pylon and the wing. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Pylons tend to be in the shade of the underside of the airframe, and their relief comes out with a faint dark touch into the recesses.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
