A resin set of launchers and pylons for a model of the MiG-29K carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. These are the parts on which the armament under the wing hangs and from which it is launched. A plastic kit usually simplifies them; printing in resin manages the guide rails and the small locks as well. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory.
The MiG-29K is the carrier version adapted for operation from an aircraft carrier. The folding wing changes the arrangement of the stations, because the pylons have to stay accessible and the armament is hung on them even while the machine is on a cramped deck. The make-up of the mountings therefore differs from the land-based version, and on a model it is a clearly visible detail of the whole underside.
Release the parts from the supports over a working surface and level the mating faces on abrasive paper on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the pylons separately from the airframe and fit them only once they are painted. On carrier equipment, weathering more toward gray suits the salt spray.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
