A resin set of launchers and pylons for a MiG-31 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. These are the parts on which the missiles under the fuselage and under the wing hang. A plastic kit usually simplifies them; printing in resin manages the small locks and the lightening holes as well. It is not an aircraft kit but an armament accessory for a finished model.
The MiG-31 carries its main armament in semi-recessed mountings under the fuselage, an arrangement that cuts drag and allows flight at high speed even with a full load. The pylons under the wing take lighter missiles on rail launchers and drop tanks. For a modeler that means several different types of mounting come together under one machine, and that their rendering decides the fidelity of the whole underside.
Release the parts from the supports over a working surface and level the mating faces on abrasive paper on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the pylons separately from the airframe and fit them only once they are painted. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in small drops.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
