A resin 3D printed set replaces the landing gear wheels of a model of the MiG-29 SMT in 1:32 scale. The wheels show the deformation of the tire under the weight of the aircraft. The set of the same name with the 3D suffix is cut for the 3D printed landing gear legs from Temp Models; this variant states no such tie. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement part for one.
The MiG-29 SMT is the upgraded form of the MiG-29 tactical fighter with a markedly enlarged fuselage spine, which takes more fuel and new equipment. The higher take-off weight was reflected in the landing gear and the tires as well, which is why the manufacturer lists the set for the SMT separately. In photographs of machines in service the tires are clearly settled and soiled from the concrete surface. It is precisely that settling which tells a finished model apart from a machine hanging in the air.
First wash the 3D printed parts in warm water with a little dish soap, so that they are rid of the residue of printing resin. Cut the supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as possible and sand the marks down with your airways protected. Resin does not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Lay a thin coat of primer on before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on a smooth print. Fit the weighted wheels so that the flattened part of the tire sits on the surface, otherwise the model does not stand naturally.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
