Hobby Color H85, sail color, 10 ml (Gunze)

A shade from the Aqueous Hobby Color line of the Japanese maker Gunze, also known as GSI Creos. The manufacturer lists it under the name Sail Color, that is the color of sails. The bottle holds 10 ml and the paint is a water-thinnable acrylic.

What it is suited to

The muted creamy beige tone matches unpainted sailcloth and natural canvas. It serves on the sails and rigging of historical ships, on canvas covers of vehicles, tents, tarpaulins and figure packs and on the fabric-covered surfaces of older aircraft. On fabric surfaces it comes into its own when the weave is emphasized with a darker tone in the folds and a lighter one on the edges. Because it is a light shade, over a dark base it usually needs more thin coats.

Use

• Shake the bottle carefully before work.
• For the airbrush, thin it with the Aqueous line thinner or with water.
• On fabric surfaces a dark wash in the folds proves itself and brings out the texture.
• Let the paint dry between coats, otherwise light shades smear easily.
• Do not mix it with the Mr. Color lacquer line or with the Acrysion line.

For builders of historical ships, figures and vehicles with canvas parts who work with water-thinnable acrylics. It also serves well as a light base for mixing further beige and sand tones.

Keep out of the reach of children. Ventilate while spraying and do not inhale the aerosol.
