A light gray Gunze Hobby Color shade for naval aviation, acrylic paint 10 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
Light gray tones with a slightly warm cast appear on the upper surfaces of carrier aircraft from the time when an upper gray was combined with a white underside. Besides aircraft over the water, the gray suits small equipment, landing gear bays, support vehicles and use as a base for light camouflage and faded surfaces.
The whole range is built for an airbrush, but it does not resist a brush either, provided roughly a quarter of the volume of Mr. Retarder Mild is added to the paint. The stroke then stays wet longer, the brush marks have time to level out and the coat forms no ridges. Anyone who needs a different degree of sheen mixes in the Flat Base matting additive, which can knock a gloss or semi-gloss shade down to flat without touching the color tone.
If after spraying you add fine picking out of the rivets and a slightly lighter tone in the middle of the panels, the gray will stop looking like one uniform field. On large upper surfaces that tends to be the difference between a model that looks painted and a model that looks used.
A last recommendation concerns storage. Paint left in the cold or, conversely, next to a radiator changes its consistency, and after a longer time it becomes hard to lay on evenly, so keep the bottle at room temperature out of direct sunlight.
