A dark green acrylic tone for the camouflage of aircraft and ground vehicles. A jar with a volume of 10 ml, thinned with water or with Mr. Color Thinner, applied mainly with an airbrush.

Dark greens form the backbone of most camouflage finishes of the twentieth century. They alternate with gray or brown on the upper surfaces of aircraft, cover the cargo beds of trucks and on armored vehicles often cover the whole surface. That is exactly why the range contains several of them: they differ in the proportion of the yellow and blue components, and the builder chooses the one that fits the particular machine and the period in which it served.
Green tones go well with ocher and with sand, so a faded variant for a machine after longer service in the field can be mixed from them without much effort. Lightening is done by adding a small amount of a lighter color to the base and spraying it into the middle of the panels, where the sun acts most; the edges of the areas stay in the original tone and the transition is evened out with a light pass of the starting green.
The contents of the package amount to 10 ml. The material has to be stirred thoroughly, because the saturated pigment settles at the bottom and paint that has not been fully mixed dries slowly. On an absorbent surface thinning with water is enough, while on smooth plastic Mr. Color Thinner does a better job. If you plan to brush it on, add Mr. Retarder Mild, thanks to which the paint stays fluid longer and the marks of the bristles level out.
A saturated green tends to draw into engraved lines in a heavy coat and can swallow shallower panel lines completely. So it pays to spray sparingly, to check the result against the light and to build the coats up gradually until the surface covers.
