1:32 HYPERSONIC MISSILE X-47M2

Kh-47M2 guided missile in 1:32 scale from Temp Models

The set brings a 3D printed replica of the Kh-47M2 guided missile, in transliteration also written X-47M2, in 1:32 scale from Temp Models. It is not a model of an aircraft but underwing armament with which you complete a finished build. The printed rendition gives the crisper edges of the stabilizing and control surfaces and finer surface detail than injection-molded plastic offers, and it does without a seam line across the whole body of the missile.

The real subject

The Kh-47M2 is a Russian aeroballistic missile of long range carried by a modified MiG-31 interceptor. After being launched at great altitude the missile continues on a ballistic trajectory and is capable of maneuvering, which sets it apart from ordinary air-to-ground missiles. Its dimensions are exceptional for aircraft armament, so the aircraft carries a single round slung under the fuselage rather than under the wing.

Building and painting tips

The parts are printed from resin and are held only by thin supports. Cut them off with a sharp scalpel as close to the part as possible, sand the marks down with fine sandpaper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint holds longer on a smooth print if you lay a thin coat of primer under it. Paint the underwing weapons separately and glue them onto the model only after the landing gear and the cockpit are finished.

Who the set is for

• Modelers who build an aircraft in full combat configuration
• Builders who are bothered by soft edges and seam lines on plastic weapons
• More experienced modelers used to resin and cyanoacrylate glue
• Collectors of Soviet and Russian aircraft equipment in 1:32

The set is an addition to building a model, not a model in its own right. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
