Kh-47M2 hypersonic missile, 1:48 is a 3D-printed resin replica of the Russian Kh-47M2 hypersonic missile in 1:48 scale for filling out the stores of a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set holds a 3D-printed resin replica of the Russian Kh-47M2 hypersonic guided missile in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for the external stores. Given the dimensions of the real weapon, even in this scale it is an exceptionally long piece.
The Kh-47M2 is a Russian air-launched missile derived from a ground-based ballistic system, carried by a modified MiG-31 interceptor on a ventral pylon. After release at high altitude it accelerates to several times the speed of sound and flies along an adjustable path to a ground target. The missile is exceptionally large and heavy, so the aircraft carries only one. For a modeler it is a conspicuous and fairly recent subject.
Wash the 3D-printed parts in warm soapy water first, to get rid of any print resin residue. Cut the print supports off with a sharp blade or a fine saw as close to the part as you can and sand the marks away with respiratory protection. Resin does not bond with polystyrene cement, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold well on the smooth print. Assemble and paint the armament separately and glue it to the pylon only once the varnish has dried, so that the fine surfaces do not get rubbed.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
