IJA Grey Green 17ml

Vallejo Model Air IJA Grey Green 17 ml

This is an opaque acrylic paint from the Model Air range in a dropper bottle with a volume of 17 ml. The binder is acrylic, so the paint is thinned with water or with the acrylic thinner of the same manufacturer, not with lacquer or cellulose thinners. Compared with the thicker brush acrylics, the Model Air range is mixed noticeably thinner and is intended above all for airbrush spraying, where in most cases you do not have to thin it further. The name of the shade refers to the gray-green color that the manufacturer associates with the Imperial Japanese Army Air Force.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before every use so that the pigment settled at the bottom is mixed back in.
• Spray at a lower pressure in several thin coats; one thick coat leads to pooling and the loss of detail on the engraving.
• On smooth plastic an acrylic primer undercoat is recommended — it increases adhesion and resistance to masking tape.
• Let the intermediate coats dry properly; acrylic dries quickly to the touch, but full curing takes longer.
• Clean the airbrush right after work with water and then with an acrylic cleaner, before the paint dries in the nozzle.

Who the paint is for

It suits modelers who spray with an airbrush and want a paint ready for immediate use without lengthy thinning and filtering. Thanks to the dropper bottle, a few drops can easily be measured into a mixing cup, which is useful when mixing shades, modulating surfaces or preparing lightened tones. The paint can be used with a brush as well, but on larger surfaces count on more coats because of the thinner consistency.

The paint is intended for modeling use. Work in a ventilated area and use a respirator and eye protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children, close the bottle well after use and protect it from frost.
