A themed paint set from the IONIC range aimed at the uniforms of the Imperial Japanese Army from 1937 to 1945.
Responsibility details are not available.
This themed paint set from the IONIC range relates to the uniforms of the Imperial Japanese Army and covers the years 1937 to 1945, that is the whole period from the fighting in China to the end of the war in the Pacific. The coloring of the Japanese field uniform keeps to subdued khaki tones with a yellowish to brownish cast, which changed quickly in a tropical climate under the action of sun, rain and mud.
On a figure from the Pacific theater the wear matters as much as the shade itself. Lay the base tone over the whole garment, let a darker one settle into the folds, pick the edges out with a lighter one and only at the very end add dust and stains. Stir the contents of the container thoroughly before picking the paint up, the pigment settles at the bottom. Work in thin coats and let each one dry, otherwise the pockets, seams and straps will disappear. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging and those instructions take precedence; a thinner from another range may curdle the paint. Clean the brushes right after work.
For modelers who build figures and dioramas from the Pacific and Asian theaters, and for those who add crews to Japanese vehicles. Subdued khaki tones also suit equipment, canvas and packs.
The exact number of shades, their names and the volume of the containers are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging of the set. Figures, a model and painting tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
