Vallejo matte medium, an auxiliary preparation for mixing into modeling paints. It cuts the gloss of the coat and makes the paint more transparent without your having to change the shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
Matte medium is not used on its own but mixed into paint. It takes the gloss off the coat and at the same time makes the paint more transparent, so that an opaque shade turns into a glaze that can be laid in several layers over one another. It suits anywhere the surface is meant to look flat and natural: on the camouflaged surfaces of military vehicles, on equipment, on the cloth and leather of figures or for unifying the transitions between shades.
Stir the contents of the bottle before work. Add the medium to the paint on the palette in small doses, not straight into the bottle of paint, and choose the ratio according to how strongly you want to suppress the gloss; the maker's instructions on the packaging are a guide, the rest is a matter of testing. Always try the mixture out on a piece of plastic or in a place that will not be seen, because once dry it looks different than it does wet. Apply it in thin layers and let them dry thoroughly.
The preparation is meant for mixing into paint, not for the final protection of the model; separate varnishes serve that purpose. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the maker's instructions on the packaging. Wash the brushes and the palette immediately after work, as dried medium is considerably harder to remove. Close the bottle carefully and store it so that it cannot freeze.
Paints, brushes and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
