A resin set of landing gear wheels for a model of the MiG-29K carrier fighter in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models, carrying the suffix 3D in its name. Printing in resin renders the tread pattern and the shape of the hub without the parting line that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts for your own model.
The MiG-29K is the carrier version with a folding wing, strengthened landing gear and an arrestor hook. A deck landing is the hardest test the aircraft puts the landing gear through, because the machine comes down without flaring and with its full weight. The wheels therefore have a different design from the land-based version and tend to be markedly worn. On a model it is a detail the viewer studies from every side.
Cut the supports off with a new blade and level the mating face on abrasive paper laid on glass. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water. Paint the hub and the tire separately and use a circular mask on the transition. Handle the weathering on carrier equipment in gray tones that match the salt spray.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
