A resin set of landing gear wheels for a MiG-35 model in 1:48 scale from the Russian brand Temp Models. Printing in resin renders the tread pattern and the shape of the hub without the parting line that runs down the middle of a plastic wheel. The manufacturer makes two wheel sets for this aircraft and does not state how they differ. It is not an aircraft kit but replacement parts.
The MiG-35 is the latest step in the development of the line that began with the MiG-29. Against the original machine it has a reworked airframe, different equipment and a higher take-off weight, so the landing gear received a more robust arrangement as well. The nose leg with two wheels sits far back under the air intakes and the main legs retract into the fuselage. On this type the wheels are clearly visible, because the model is often built on the flight line with the landing gear down.
Cut the supports off with a scalpel and level the mating spot, so that the wheel sits square. Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water before painting. Spray the tire a very dark gray and the hub separately, following the real thing. On the transition between hub and tire a circular mask or patient work with a brush helps.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
