Model Color - Sportscar

A set of eight acrylic paints from the German brand Revell, aimed at sports and racing cars. The selection goes for the classic racing tones: green, orange and blue in the spirit of team finishes, plus silver, chassis gray and a metallic shade, so one box covers the body as well as the chassis. The manufacturer states the paints as ready for applying with a brush and for filling into an airbrush.

Use

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use; with metallic tones that goes double.
• Fill and sand the body first; a gloss finish will not hide irregularities but will bring them out.
• Apply in thin coats, otherwise the paint runs into engraved lines and the gaps around the hood.
• Leave the metallic shades until the end; they are harder to spray over and to mask.
• Leave the surface glossy under the decals; on a matte surface the edges of decals silver.

Who the set is for

It suits builders of car models who want a basic palette of racing colors in one place, and equally beginners who are still assembling their first equipment. It will serve in building dioramas with vehicles too, where a glossy body as well as subdued chassis tones come in handy. Racing cars moreover are recognized chiefly by their color, so a set that has the striking team shades together saves a great deal of hunting for individual bottles. The same tones can also be used on the accessories around a car, from service trolleys to the tools in the pits.

Keep the paints out of the reach of children, ventilate while working and close the bottles well after use.
