A hundred and ten milliliters of a liquid that belongs with the water-thinnable acrylic paints of the Aqueous Hobby Color range. It is not a universal solvent for everything with the word acrylic in its description. The composition is tuned to the binder of this particular range, and that is exactly why the paint stays flexible and adheres to the surface even after thinning.
An acrylic paint can be thinned with water, but with every further drop the amount of binder per unit of volume falls. The result is often a coat that comes away in whole sheets when masking tape is peeled off. A thinner does not dilute the binder, it only adjusts the viscosity, and it also slows drying at the nozzle slightly, so that fine transitions do not start to go grainy.
For an airbrush the starting point is roughly one part of thinner to two parts of paint, adjusted according to the nozzle diameter, the pressure and the temperature on the bench. A thicker mix keeps the coverage, a thinner one suits filters and shading. When working with a brush, a few drops added on the palette are usually enough for the strokes to flow together better.
Right after spraying it is worth flushing the airbrush and the brushes while the paint is fresh. At that stage the thinner is quite enough. Once an acrylic has dried and cross-linked, ordinary thinning will no longer dissolve it and a tool cleaner has to be used. Close the bottle after pouring, because the contents are volatile and in an open container they noticeably diminish. Store it out of direct sun and out of the reach of children, like all modeling chemistry. For the continuous work of a larger bench there is also a bigger variant of the same thinner.
