Bronco 1:35 Valentine 25pdr SPG Bishop is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British self-propelled gun of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit from the manufacturer Bronco captures the British Bishop self-propelled gun - a 25-pounder gun on the chassis of the Valentine tank, in 1:35 scale. The set contains detailed running gear, the tall box superstructure with an interior, photo-etched metal and individual track links; the exact contents are given on the box.
The Bishop came about as a quick British answer to the need for self-propelled artillery in North Africa: the proven 25-pounder gun was given a box-like armored superstructure on the reliable chassis of the Valentine infantry tank. The tall box limited the elevation, and with it the range of the gun, but the Bishop nevertheless helped fill a gap until better American self-propelled guns arrived. It saw use above all in the fighting in North Africa in 1942 and later in Sicily. At the rear it has large doors, inside a suggestion of radio sets and ammunition racks; the whole machine gives the impression of an improvised but practical solution.
First assemble and paint the running gear and the interior of the fighting compartment, because once the superstructure is closed you will not reach it; you can leave the rear doors open and show the interior. Glue the individual track links with liquid cement and shape them while tacky. For the African subject choose a sand base, for the Sicilian one olive; dust and mud weathering on the underside will underline the deployment.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
