The Gunze Mr. Color C333 modeling paint in the Extra Dark Sea Grey shade to the British standard BS 381C, number 640. A solvent-based paint for airbrush and brush.
Responsibility details are not available.
Extra Dark Sea Grey is a British standard shade listed in BS 381C under the number 640. It is a dark gray with a cool cast. During the Second World War it formed, together with Dark Slate Grey, the finish of the upper surfaces of British naval aircraft, and in the later decades too it remained one of the main camouflage grays for upper surfaces in British aviation.
Mr. Color is a solvent-based modeling paint of the lacquer type. It dries quickly, holds in a layer thin enough not to flood engraved surface detail, and once cured it resists abrasion and masking tape, so that two-color camouflage schemes with hard and with misted transitions alike are easy to build with it.
Stir the bottle all the way to the bottom, where the pigment settles. For the airbrush, thin the paint with the thinner of the same range, do not use water for thinning, and lay it down in two or three thin coats. In the small scales it is often good to lighten a dark shade slightly, so that the model does not look flat when seen from a distance. With a brush, work quickly and in a single pass, and do not go back into a coat that has flashed off. Work in a ventilated area.
The paint will be appreciated by modelers of British aircraft who need a shade documented by a British standard number and do not want to mix it by their own judgment. The package contains only the paint; thinner, tools and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
