Mr. Weathering Liner Mud Set (Gunze)

A weathering set from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze aimed at mud and earth effects. It is not a covering paint and not a kit: it is a product for the final stage of work on a model, when a cleanly painted replica turns into a machine that has been driven somewhere. Mud never lies evenly on a vehicle. Most of it is on the running gear, the fenders and the lower surfaces, and higher up only as thin splatter. The exact number of pieces in the package, their form and the volume are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Use

• Work on a completely dry coat of paint; a matte surface takes the effect more readily than a glossy one.
• Start from the lower areas and the running gear and weaken the effect as you work upward.
• Apply the splatter with short strokes or by flicking it off a bristle, so that no regular pattern appears.
• Build up the shade and the intensity gradually; excess is harder to remove than another layer is to add.
• Seal the finished effect with a protective varnish so that it does not come off during handling.

Who the set is for

For modelers of military and civilian vehicles, construction and farm machines, and for diorama builders, where a muddy machine is a natural part of the scene. It also works well on figures, on footwear and on the lower hems of the gear. For beginners we recommend trying the effect on an offcut first, before you touch a finished model.

Work in a ventilated space, do not inhale the product and avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of reach of children and store it in the original packaging.
