Infini-Model Premium Zebra Sanding Stick (Sankyo), 400 grit - two pieces

The Premium Zebra Sanding Stick is an Infini-Model sanding stick fitted with Sankyo abrasive. By the designation this is a pack of two pieces in 400 grit. It is a working, coarser grade with which the model is prepared before fine finishing: it levels mold seams, remnants of sprue gates and cured filler. It is not a kit or an accessory for a model but a tool for the workbench.

Use

• Leveling the mold seam on a fuselage, a cowling or a hull after gluing.
• Cleaning up the remnants of sprue gates on parts clipped from the sprue.
• Leveling filler once it has cured, before moving on to finer grits.
• Accurate sanding on a flat area - the shape of the stick holds the edge and does not round the details off as much as loose abrasive paper.
• Always clear the dust off the surface after sanding, otherwise the grit is carried into the finer grade and into the paint.

Who the tools are for

They suit builders of plastic kits and resin accessories who want the surface ready for a primer. The 400 grit is the entry grade, and it is worth following it with finer ones: with gloss coats, fine finishing is a necessity. A two-piece pack makes sense on larger kits, where the abrasive gradually clogs.

This is modeling equipment, not a kit. Do not breathe the sanding dust, work in a ventilated area and use a respirator during longer work.
