A replacement SJU-8/A ejection seat in the late form for models of the A-7D and A-7E Corsair in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The A-7 Corsair II is a single-seat subsonic attack aircraft; the designations A-7D and A-7E belong to its later versions. On a model with the canopy slid back the seat is the most closely watched part of the cockpit, because it shows the shape of the shell and the layout of the handles and straps.
The item replaces the kit seat with the SJU-8/A type in its late form for a model in 1:48 scale. The breakdown of the parts and how they go together are described in the manufacturer's instructions; follow those as well when choosing between seat variants, if the package offers more than one.
The parts are not polystyrene and are glued with cyanoacrylate. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder flat, so that the glued surface seats without a gap. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will hold poorly on them. Paint and shade the seat off the model and only then set it into the cockpit tub. Pick the straps out in a color different from the shell and, once the seat is in, check that the canopy still closes down.
The set suits modelers who are building a Corsair with an open cockpit and want a seat in it that matches the late form of the machine. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
