1:35 Pouches for MP38 and MP40

The real subject

The German MP 38 and MP 40 submachine guns fed from a straight box magazine, and a soldier carried spare magazines in pouches on his belt, as a rule one set on each side. A German infantryman is recognized by them even on a small figure, because they form a prominent part of the silhouette around the waist.

What the set contains

The package holds separate magazine pouches in 1:35 scale, that is, in the same scale as ordinary figures and kits of military vehicles. You can use them in two ways. Either they add the equipment to a figure that does not have it, or they replace the softly suggested pouches that on simpler figures are part of the body casting. The second route means carefully cutting the original shape away and leveling the surface.

Building and painting tips

• Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and let them dry.
• Try the position on the belt dry; the pouches should meet the straps and must not get in the way of the arms.
• Cut the original suggested equipment away with a sharp knife and sand the surface, and only then glue.
• You attach the parts to a figure with a small drop of super glue; transfer them with tweezers.
• Bring the folds out with a darker tone, the edges with a light dry brush, and choose matte paint.
• Pouches laid down on a crate or on a vehicle seat bring a scene to life even without figures.
