A German steel helmet of the M35 and M40 pattern with a canvas camouflage cover in 1:72 scale. A small accessory for figures and dioramas from the Second World War period.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German steel helmet of the M35 pattern was among the most widespread headgear of the German army in the Second World War. The simplified M40 variant differed from it mainly in that the ventilation holes were pressed directly into the shell instead of having separate riveted inserts. A canvas camouflage cover over the helmet broke up its characteristic outline and prevented reflections off the smooth paint.
The accessory brings a helmet of the M35 or M40 pattern with the camouflage cover fitted, in 1:72 scale. The parts are intended for figures and for dioramas, where they replace the simplified shapes of production sets or add discarded equipment to a scene.
The material is not polystyrene and ordinary modeling cement has no effect on it. Use cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a primer, otherwise the shade will hold badly on the smooth surface. In 1:72 scale the cover comes out best when you darken the base shade in the folds of the fabric and, conversely, bring out the raised edges with a dry brush.
The set will be appreciated by builders of dioramas and figures from the Second World War period who care that small equipment matches a particular pattern. Working with parts of this size calls for tweezers, a sharp scalpel and a steady hand.
The package contains only the stated accessory. Figures, a kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
